A sheep farmer's daughter

Paula Ryan launched her label in 1998 because she was genuinely frustrated. As a former Fashion Quarterly editor, she could see what fashion was getting wrong: fabrics chosen for cost, not performance. Pieces engineered to be replaced, not kept.

Her Canterbury farming background gave her a specific lens. She applied the same logic to clothing that farmers apply to everything: choose for performance over time, not appearance at point of sale.
