The fabric we reach for first
The fabric
Microjersey is a technical fabric milled in Italy and manufactured into finished garments in New Zealand. It has been in production across Paula Ryan collections for more than 25 years, and it is the fabric we reach for first.
Its construction is what sets it apart: a fine warp-knit with stretch in every direction that follows the body and returns to shape, wash after wash.
From independent testing, Microjersey offers maximum resistance to pilling, retains its shape after repeated washing, and dries much faster than other fabrics.
There is no ironing required; simply wash, hang and wear.
Paula chose Microjersey not because it was fashionable, but because it performed, and went on performing, season after season.

The Microjersey difference
Milled in Italy, made up in New Zealand.
Durability
Microjersey retains its shape after repeated washing, with no stretching and no gradual loss of structure, by Eurojersey's testing. The fit you choose on day one is the fit you choose to keep.
Effortless care
Microjersey holds its shape without heat. Hang it, wear it. No iron, no steamer, no extra step, by Eurojersey's testing.
Versatility
Microjersey packs compactly and comes out of a suitcase ready to wear, with no creasing and no hunt for a hotel iron. Wash it in a hotel basin if you must, hang it overnight, and wear it in the morning.
Performance
Comfort and construction, in the same fabric.
Comfort
The open construction of Microjersey lets air circulate between the fibres, which Eurojersey says keeps the fabric cooler and more hygienic. The result is comfort that holds through long days, warm rooms, and active travel, without changing how the garment looks or feels.
Durability
Eurojersey states Sensitive Fabrics tend to be around three times more durable than cotton. That durability is part of why the fabric keeps its place in a wardrobe.
Longevity
Microjersey's fine warp-knit gives maximum resistance to pilling, by Eurojersey's testing, so it holds long-lasting colour and resists the surface friction that dulls most fabrics. The finish that catches your eye on day one is the one you keep.
Paula Ryan Microjersey
Cost per wear
A Microjersey piece is bought to be worn, often, for years. If you want to do the sums, they are yours to do: a $420 Microjersey piece worn three times a week for five years comes to under 55 cents per wear. That is not a reason to buy; it is simply how the numbers fall when a garment keeps its shape, its colour, and its place in your wardrobe. The question was never what a piece costs, but how many times you reach for it and how well it still looks when you do. Women return to Paula Ryan not because something wore out, but because they want to add to what they already have. Take your time. The pieces will wait.
"I've worn this skirt for many years. Just love it. Dressed up or down. Paula Ryan never disappoints." - Sue W.

Microjersey is a technical fabric milled in Italy by Eurojersey and made up in New Zealand. It is knitted from ultra-fine polyamide microfibres with LYCRA in a fine warp-knit, which gives it density, stretch in every direction, and a smooth surface.
By Eurojersey's testing, Microjersey offers maximum resistance to pilling. The ultra-fine microfibre and fine warp-knit resist the rubbing that wears most fabrics, so garments keep their original surface through years of regular wear.
No ironing required. The warp-knit structure releases creases as the garment hangs, so nothing in the Microjersey range needs pressing, including tailored pieces. It comes out of the wash ready to wear.
Yes. Microjersey is lightweight and resists creasing, so it rolls compactly and comes out of a suitcase ready to wear, with no ironing. It dries much faster than other fabrics, by Eurojersey's testing, which makes it a first choice for travel. Wash it in a hotel basin if you must, hang it overnight, and it will be ready by morning. Follow the garment care label for washing.
By Eurojersey's testing, no ironing is needed: the fabric releases creases as the garment hangs and dries. For washing and drying, follow the garment care label. [NEEDS SOURCE: Microjersey wash temperature, cycle, detergent, fabric-softener guidance]
